Description

In current energy demand scenario, it is necessary to look for new and cleaner energy source. Hydrogen can play a very relevant role in future energy framework. Two very interesting device that can help hydrogen to play this role are:
•Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFC) are electrochemical conversion device that produces electricity directly from oxidizing hydrogen.
•Solid oxide electrolyzer cell (SOEC) is a solid oxide fuel cell that runs in regenerative mode to achieve the electrolysis of water (and/or carbon dioxide) by using a solid oxide, or ceramic, electrolyte to produce hydrogen gas (and/or carbon monoxide) and oxygen.
The SOFC/SOEC systems are complex nonlinear systems and contain many uncertain parameters.
In this thesis, parameters estimation algorithms and controllers for SOFC/SOEC systems will be developed.
