Abstract

This work presents an architecture
based on a modular and hierarchically-organised
system to perform Multiple-Target Tracking
(MTT). A set of co-operating modules, which
work following both bottom-up and top-down
paradigms, are distributed through three levels.
Each level is devoted to a main task: Target Detection,
Low-Level Tracking (LLT), and High-Level
Tracking (HLT). A principled event management
is embedded in the system. The system is allowed
to switch among Motion-based Tracking (MBT) and Appearance-based Tracking (ABT).
